Emerald Airlines, the exclusive operator of Aer Lingus Regional services, has announced the addition of extra flights from Cork to Bristol and the launch of new flights from Cork to Edinburgh. These additional services are aimed at rugby fans traveling to support Ireland during the 2025 Six Nations Championship.
In response to high demand, Emerald Airlines is offering increased capacity to two key cities, ensuring fans can easily travel to cheer on their team at the upcoming rugby internationals.
The new Cork to Edinburgh flights and additional Cork to Bristol flights will operate on an Airbus A320, with a seating capacity of 174. This provides capacity for the growing number of supporters making their way to the UK for the matches.
The flights on the Cork to Bristol route will operate on 21 and 23 February 2025, while the new Cork to Edinburgh services are scheduled for 7 and 9 February 2025.
Barry Holland, Cork Airport’s Communications Manager added “There are lots of reasons to look forward to the spring—better weather, longer days, and of course, the start of the Six Nations Championship! With three Irish away games this year, you cannot beat the atmosphere of a rugby international in the likes of Murrayfield or Principality Stadium. It’s brilliant to see Emerald Airlines operating extra Bristol services and new Edinburgh services to cater for the many fans travelling to cheer on Ireland. Seats on these services will be snapped up in no time, so early booking is strongly advised.”
Ian Lough, Head of Commercial Emerald Airlines, stated “We are delighted to be supporting rugby fans by launching new flights from Cork to Edinburgh and adding extra flights on our popular Cork to Bristol service. These additional services will make it easier for supporters to travel and cheer on Ireland during the Six Nations, ensuring a seamless journey for all.”
